In retrospect, I know that the most interesting conversations we have had take place while I am combing her hair to go to school in the mornings. This morning was no different. She started the conversation by saying out of the blue: “Mommy, life is not about what we want, but what our parents can do for us. It’s about having fun. And we have more fun if we don’t whine about everything all the time.” Surprised I then asked her: “Who taught you this?”. She replies: “Nobody. I know because I’m 5 and I’m growing and learning things. The more we grow, the more things we know!” At least that line I recognized (sort of!) thanks Dr. Seuss!
