A popular saying is that "it takes a village to raise a kid".
I am finding that more and more to be truthful.
First, my first epiphany about this was a couple of Christmas ago. I wrote a desperate plea about finding a Purple Furby.
My host sister with Canada offered to help and my friend Dea too. Her daughter ended up finding a pink, she paid for and her husband mailed it to me so that her Santa wish was granted.
I have posted Frozen related stuff in Facebook since Miss B has been become enamorared with the movie. One of these days, a friend from Rio, knowing how much she loved it, told me Frozen On Ice was about to come out. That same day, I found out that tickets were on sale and we bought tickets to the premiere of the U.S. Tour in Orlando. This would end up being one of the highlights of 2014.
And even when I post her accomplishments, her birthday in Facebook or just day-to-day stuff I feel a shower of love. It is as if there is no physical distance and my Facebook friends are following our journey and being part of our lives every day And, that is why, as much as I have issues with privacy, I can't stop myself from sharing our lives through pictures.
It does take a village to raise a kid, these day a virtual village of folks too that are caring and feel like they are not virtual at all. Because truly they are not, just separated by many miles.
