New Father, Old Values
This is my first and only child, a blessing every second. Even though there is a strong physical resemblance between us, it is undeniable the personality traits she gracefully inherited from her mom. Being a father these days is more than just taking you child on your lap, but more and more a team effort. It requires strong family values as a base, as well, the openness to keep up with the constant process of changes that we experience (Technology, Social Media, Society, etc.). As a father to my little Princess, I couldn't have asked God for a better role than to be the father that I am, to the daughter that I have and the wife to complete us.

Mid July I (@beachmom01) found out about the CNN iReport assignment asking to write how the role of fathers had evolved these days via Twitter. Since I had a great picture of Carlos and Bianca in her pink barbie tent taken earlier in the year, I RT'd in Twitter suggesting that Carlos (@akacarioca) wrote and he agreed to it!
Right after @akacarioca posted on CNN, CNN iReport replied to my RT asking if the picture @akacarioca had used was the one I had suggested and upon my reply they tweeted saying that they had "loved, loved, loved it". I knew we had done well then. Later that day, CNN vetted our report and contacted Carlos to ask further questions on the wonderful piece he had written.
Wednesday, July 24th 2013 last week, our story was included as one of the 9 stories in an article named "Prince William and dads everywhere show 'Mr. Mom' is outdated" that was the cover of CNN Living tab of the main CNN site. WOW! Something that started so simple as a tribute from Papaya to his Nenenha Caribenha to put on this blog was published by freaking CNN on their main site! Amazing feeling... So proud of our team work and even more of hubby, no exactly a Mr. Mom, but a fun Daddy that does not mind playing tea parties, putting pink fairy hats on, being silly and who loves his little girl ever so deeply.
